RV & Motorhome Type Vehicles

There are requirements for specific RV and Motorhome type vehicles, which require that these vehicles are registered with PennDOT.

• Motorhomes
• Pick-up campers
• Recreational Vehicles (RV’s)
• Tent Trailers

The registration process for these vehicles is very similar to the registration process of a standard car, besides the fees which are based on the size of the vehicle and the option to register your RV or similar vehicle by season.

If you have a van that you have customized and would like to register as a Pennsylvania motorhome, you will be required to be sure that there are fixtures of the van to qualify it as a motorhome, which must include at least one of the following:

• Desk
• Kitchen Fixtures
• Permanent Bed
